About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to support the creation,  organisation, and maintenance of props across our productions. The role includes hands-on prop work as well as routine tasks such as inventory management, packaging,  and organising props within a warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, bringing consistent focus, energy and professionalism to every aspect of the role. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Design, build, adapt, and maintain props using various techniques and materials. 

  • Research and source props and materials efficiently. 

  • Conduct regular stock checks and manage inventory using organisational tools.

  • Safely pack and prepare props for storage and distribution, ensuring attention to detail and care. 

  • Extract prop requirements from scripts and production documents with accuracy. 

  • Support the smooth day-to-day operations of the Props Department, including warehouse organisation and upkeep.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with prop-making techniques and materials.  

  • A flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on diverse tasks, including repetitive or routine work.  

  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to stay focused in a warehouse environment.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, particularly in inventory management.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and online sourcing tools.  

  • Ability to interpret scripts and production paperwork efficiently. 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working backstage or in a theatre environment.  

  • Experience creating or managing props for stage productions.  

  • Machine or hand sewing skills.  

  • Graphic design skills, particularly with Photoshop.  

  • Familiarity with prop costumes, mascot costumes, or puppets.  

Salary dependent on experience.
