We’re Investing in the Future of Theatre

Babies - new musical in development in rehearsal in London

As one of the world’s largest producers and presenters of theatrical entertainment Crossroads Live is committed to nurturing and encouraging talent, whether onstage, backstage, or offstage.

We are actively working to remove barriers to access, or careers in the arts, and believe that a person’s circumstances should never prevent them from reaching their potential.

Sponsorship of The Stage Debut Awards

The Stage Debut Awards are dedicated to recognising breakthrough theatre talent and celebrating emerging actors and creatives from all backgrounds.

In 2023 we sponsored the award for Best Composer, Lyricist or Book Writer which was won by Broadway musical sensation Michael R Jackson for his show A Strange Loop, staged at the Barbican Theatre in London.

Ensuring that theatre is seen as a viable career path is essential for our industry to remain the global force that it is now, and is something that Crossroads Live, as a truly global company,  feels extremely passionate about.

Exhibiting at Theatrecraft

At Crossroads Live we know that the magic isn’t just created onstage, which is why we exhibit and run workshops at Theatrecraft, the UKs largest free event for anyone aged 16 – 30 seeking an offstage career in theatre.

Demystifying the roles available in a busy theatre producers office and explaining how to get started, whatever your previous experience, encourages young people to understand the many reasons why you should pursue a career in theatre.

AICA Production Internship

From 2023, we are providing paid career training opportunities, working in partnership with the Arts Institute for Creative Advancement (AICA), a Washington D.C. area organisation whose goal is removing barriers to meaningful career paths for D.C. youth and young adults who have been disproportionally affected by the economic impact of COVID-19.

We welcomed our first two Technical Production Interns, Mardelle Singleton (who worked on Pretty Woman in Utica, NY) and Ashakilah Fenn (who worked on Annie in Paducah, KY) assisting the Production department during the out-of-town tech period and jump to first city. Amee Barnes joined as Warehouse Intern, assisting the Warehouse Manager and Production team.

Crossroads Live Scholarships

Crossroads Live Scholarships

Our four year partnership with Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, one of the UK’s leading drama schools, began in September 2023 and will provide vital financial support to performers undertaking undergraduate courses in Musical Theatre, Acting and Actor Musicianship.

Our shared commitment to enabling access for all and our contribution of scholarship funds totalling £100,000 will allow many talented students to go ahead with their training.

“It’s vitally important that we do whatever we can to help encourage and support the next generation of acting talent and Crossroads Live’s financial commitment to this scheme over the next four years will help make their dreams a reality. We look forward to employing our first Crossroads Live Scholar in the future!”  David Ian, Co-CEO Crossroads Live Group.
