Chicago paints the town red in China
The Crossroads Live team are delighted to be back in China with Chicago as the show-stopping musical tours twelve cities from North to South across the country!
The tour launched as part of the 2025 Harbin International Musical Festival, wowing the audiences in China’s northernmost province, Heilongjiang, with its dazzling choreography, at the first of many futuristic, architect-designed theatres with real wow factor.
The production continued south to another incredible modern venue, the Shanxi Grand Theatre in Taiyuan, before moving on to Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre, designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
Since 1996, Chicago has toured 38 countries and has been performed more than 35,000 times, to over 34 million people, with standing ovations night after night. The winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, and a Grammy, it first made its debut in China in 2018 and continues to be one of Broadway’s longest running musicals.
Created by the musical theatre talents of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, Chicago’s sexy, sassy score features one iconic song after another including “Razzle Dazzle,” “Cell Block Tango,” and “All That Jazz” so it’s easy to see why this tale of fame and fortune set amongst the decadence of the 1920’s remains as popular as ever worldwide.
As Chicago celebrates its 28th Anniversary we’re pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with originating Broadway producer and producing partner NAMCO, and Poly Culture and Poly Theatre Management in China.
